CJ

IFounder of Allturnative Cooking Culture & Sunday Everyday

CJ is a Creole-rooted chef whose culinary journey began with his grandmothers, blending small-town Southern techniques with bold, global flavors. As president of his high school’s Future Farmers of America chapter, he developed a deep respect for farming, sustainability, and food access early on.

In 2008, he launched Allturnative Cooking Culture, focusing on native cooking methods and health-conscious meals—serving everything from intimate dinners to large events, including a 1,500-guest gumbo feast.

Through his travels, CJ learned to recreate global dishes—from Filipino to Caribbean cuisine—by immersing himself in local ingredients and techniques. His latest passion: open-fire cooking.

Today, CJ runs Sunday Everyday, a farm-to-table mobile restaurant located across from Prairie View A&M University. He sources ingredients directly from local farmers, crafting soulful meals that honor culture, community, and the land they come from.
